Department of Neurosurgery

The Department of Neurosurgery has world class LEICA PROVIDO PREMIUM M 530 model neurosurgery microscope with dual (tumor and vascular) fluorescence high end facilities, which is first such installation in whole of north east India.​
The Neurosurgery set up at Dr. P.K. Saha hospital is the best available health care facility in whole of Cooch Behar region with multiple other specialties and full time expert consultants, well equipped ICUs, Intensivists and state of the art Cardiology Cath LAB and state of the art department of Neuro Radiology.​
Neurosurgery deals with the surgical treatment of diseases of the nervous system composed of the brain, spinal cord and bony spinal column. With the advancement in technology, there is virtually no area of the brain where lesions cannot be approached with a high degree of safety and accuracy. The advent of minimally invasive surgery has contributed to a much shorter hospital stay and heightened patient comfort. ​

He is an accomplished Neurosurgeon, has completed his Mch Neurosurgery Training from India’s Premium Institute PGIMER Chandigarh. He has further specialized in skull Base surgery from same institute for 1 more year. He has received Prof. K.K Mukherjee Memorial Gold Medal in Neurosurgery 2019. During his training he has performed thousands of surgeries related to Brain and Spine Tumor, Head and Spine Injury, Brain Aneurysm, Spinal degenerative disease, Hydrocephalus, Pediatric Neurosurgery, Endoscopic Pituitary surgery, Endoscopic brain and spine surgery. Later he worked as Assistant professor, dept of Neurosurgery, JNMC Sawangi Meghe, Wardha for 1 yr. Currently he is working as consultant neurosurgeon in Dr P K Saha Hospital, Cooch Behar. He has number of publications in national and International Journals.

Our consultant neurosurgeon, had completed his MBBS from Calcutta National Medical College, done MS general surgery from medical college Kolkata. He had completed his neurosurgical training (Mch) from India’s most prestigious institute All India Institute of Medical Science under neurosurgical stalwarts. After completion he worked in Institute Of Neuroscience Kolkata .Now he joined our institution to serve the local people. He has multiple publications in international and national journal also he presented his work in multiple platforms.
