Department of Urosurgery

Dr. P.K. Saha Hospital is the first Centre in Cooch Behar with round the clock urology services providing comprehensive care for all urological needs elective as well as emergency. The department is equipped well to handle emergency cases like renal trauma, bladder injury, uretheral injury, penile fracture , retention of urine and many more.
The department of urology at Dr. P.K. Saha Hospital is the first and only facility with full time inhouse urologist of Cooch Behar. The center has facility of management of all stone in urinary system, tumors of the urinary bladder, kidney and prostate, urethral stricture disease, female urinary incontinence and urogynecological fistulas.

Dr. Amitabh Kumar is an accomplished urologist and transplant surgeon. He has completed his MCh urology training at India’s premier institute Vardhman Mahavir medical college and Safdarjung hospital, New Delhi. After finishing his MCh he further worked as an Assistant professor in the Department of Urology Robotics and Renal transplant at Safdarjung hospital for 1 year. He has vast experience in the management of a variety of emergency cases as well as electives. His field of expertise includes miniature endoscopic surgery for stone disease, tumors of the urinary bladder and prostate, neurogenic bladder, male infertility, varicocele treatment, urogynaecological fistulas, urethral stricture disease, and many other reconstructive surgeries. He is currently working as Consultant Urologist at Dr. P. K. Saha Hospital, Cooch Behar. He has numerous publications in national and international journals.
